As much as I like to blog, I really don't have that many blogs that I actually read myself. There's a few that I try to keep up on, but tend to forget rather frequently.SHE in China, in particular, comes to mind because she has a very interesting blog about her experiences as a Swedish woman living in China. Of course I regularly check ESPN's NFC West blog from Mike Sando. Overall though, there's probably only three or four that I try to check regularly.
I was thinking that I wanted to find more interesting blogs, but then it hit me that it would be difficult to find the time to read them. Taking on a new blog is like taking on a new friend. People say that you can never have too many friends, but the fact of the matter is that in order to keep a friend, you have to make time for them.
I realized that we all probably do something similar when we meet a potential new friend or run across a new blog. We internally assess if this is something/someone we want to make time for. I have come across a lot of blogs that I enjoyed reading, but I never went back. The same goes for people. I've met a lot of great people that I either lost touch with or met once and never contacted again.
One thing that I think we constantly underestimate is how valuable our time is. We typically hold it in pretty high regard when it comes to allocating it to other people, yet we can waste an entire morning sitting around watching infomercials on TV.
Nevertheless, we all value our time and it takes a minute out of your day to stop by and read my blog. So thank you for reading!
